Annual Emergency Exercise, "Readiness 09", on Tuesday, June 30 8:30 to 11 a.m.June 4, 2009
On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, the Office of Emergency Preparedness will conduct the annual full-scale exercise of the UC Berkeley Emergency Response Organization (ERO). The scenario for this year's exercise is based on an earthquake along the Hayward Fault. The exercise will demonstrate the readiness of the UC Berkeley ERO to effectively respond to emergencies that may potentially affect the campus.
Exercise activities will begin at 8:30 am and continue through 11:00am.
People on campus will hear the Alert & Warning System (sirens) at the beginning and end of the exercise. You may also observe various campus organizations (UCPD, EHS, etc.) responding to simulated emergency events. The WarnME system will be activated for a select group and KALX will be sending out messages, reminding people the exercise is in progress.
